Getting Verified: What We Ask For and Why It Is Worth It

The verified badge is not decoration. It is the one thing a new shop can offer a buyer who has no order history to look at.

Getting Verified: What We Ask For and Why It Is Worth It

Every shop on Midmart is approved by staff before it can trade. Verification is the step beyond that: documented proof of who is behind the shop, checked by a person, and marked publicly with a verified badge on your shop page.

It is optional — a shop without it can still list products and take orders. It is also the single most useful thing a new shop can do, for a reason worth spelling out.

Why it matters more when you are new

A buyer choosing between two shops reads the rating and the number of orders behind it. A shop that opened last week has neither — not because it is bad, but because it is new. The verified badge is the one signal available to you that does not require a history: it says a real, identifiable business with documents on file stands behind this shop.

For an established shop the badge is a nice confirmation. For a new one it is often the difference between a first order and a closed tab.

What we ask for

One document — whichever suits you:

  • National ID (NID),
  • Passport, or
  • Trade licence.

You enter the document number and upload a clear photo or PDF of the front. The back is optional — add it when the document has information on both sides. Submit it from the verification page in your seller panel.

Documents are reviewed by staff and stored privately. They are not published on your shop page — buyers see the badge, not your papers.

How to clear it in one pass

  1. Photograph flat, in daylight, with no flash. Most rejections are simply unreadable images.
  2. Full document in frame — all four corners, nothing cropped, nothing covered by a finger.
  3. Names should match. A document in a name that does not match your account is the next most common reason for a submission to be sent back.
  4. If it is sent back, read the reason. It tells you exactly what to fix before you upload again.

Our team reviews each submission, and the result — verified, or sent back with a reason — appears on the verification page in your seller panel. Meanwhile your shop keeps selling as normal: verification earns the badge, it does not decide whether you can trade.

What the badge does and does not mean

It means we have checked who you are. It does not mean Midmart guarantees your parcels, your warranty or your refunds — the platform holds no money and books no couriers, so it is in no position to guarantee any of that for anyone. What the badge adds is accountability: a verified shop that breaks its promises is a documented person, not an anonymous account that can reappear tomorrow under a different name.

A note on what comes later

Paid seller tiers have been discussed publicly, and a verified badge is often mentioned as part of one. To be clear about today: verification is free, and there is no subscription to buy on Midmart. When that changes, it will be announced here plainly rather than appearing quietly in a price list.
