Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Midmart (midmart.com.bd) collects, why, and who sees it. Midmart is a marketplace: the shop you buy from is a separate business that receives some of your details.

What we collect

  • Account details: name, phone number, email address and password (stored hashed).
  • Order details: delivery address, district, items ordered, the payment arrangement you chose, and your messages with shops.
  • Reviews and reports you write on Midmart.
  • For sellers: shop name and details, contact numbers, the payment instructions you publish, and, if you choose to verify, the identity documents (such as a national ID and photographs) you upload.
  • For advertisers: ad wallet top-ups, campaigns and spend.
  • Technical data: device, browser and approximate location from your IP address, used for security, fraud checks and to improve the site.

Who sees it

  • The shop you order from receives your name, phone number, delivery address and order details so it can confirm and deliver the order. That shop and its couriers are then responsible for using your details only for that purpose. Midmart does not control the shop's own records.
  • Other buyers and the public see your review and display name, not your phone number or address.
  • Midmart staff see account and order records only as needed for support, moderation and fraud prevention.
  • Service providers who help us run the site (hosting, SMS and email delivery, analytics, and the payment gateway used for advertising) process data on our behalf.
  • Authorities, when the law of Bangladesh requires it.

Midmart does not sell your personal information.

Payments

Buyers pay shops directly, so Midmart never receives or stores a buyer's payment details for an order. Sellers who buy advertising pay Midmart through a payment gateway; card and mobile-wallet details are handled by the gateway and are not stored by Midmart.

Seller identity documents

Identity verification is optional and earns a verified badge. Documents you upload are kept in private storage, are visible only to authorised Midmart staff who review them, and are never shown to buyers or shops. Only the verified status is public.

We use cookies for the cart, login and language, and, with your consent, for analytics and marketing. See the Cookie Policy.

How long we keep it

We keep account and order records while your account is open and for as long as needed for disputes, fraud prevention and legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account; some records may be kept where we are required to keep them.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time. Email [email protected]. To correct or delete what a shop holds from your order, ask that shop as well.

Security

We protect accounts with hashed passwords, and sellers can use two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong, unique password.

Children

Midmart is not intended for people under 18 to buy without a parent or guardian.

Changes

We may update this policy; the date at the top shows when it last changed.
