Shop with your eyes open

The safest way to buy on Midmart is to pay only when your parcel arrives: order on Midmart, check the product at your door, then pay the shop directly — usually cash on delivery. A shop may ask for an advance; that is its choice and your risk. Midmart never holds your money and is not responsible for payments.

Most online fraud in Bangladesh traces back to unverified sellers on social media who take the money and never send the goods. Here is how Midmart is built differently, and how to protect yourself anywhere you shop online.

About payments

Sellers on Midmart collect payment their own way, and some will ask for an advance. That is allowed, so be careful before you send money. Midmart does not receive, hold or guarantee any payment, and is not responsible for any payment-related issue between you and a shop. Report a shop and we will review it, but we cannot recover money you have paid.

What the verified badge means

Identity

The owner's national ID is checked and kept on file.

Business

Trade licence or business documents reviewed by our team.

Track record

Order history, ratings and reviews — public, and impossible to fake.

Red flags, on Midmart or anywhere

A personal bKash number that reaches you only in a chat or comment, never on your Midmart order page. It is the most common scam in Bangladesh. Advance payment is the seller's call, so pay in advance only to a shop you have checked, and keep proof of every payment.

A price too good to be true. A ৳150,000 phone offered at ৳40,000 is bait, not a deal. Compare the same product across sellers here before you order.

Being pushed off the platform. "Message me on WhatsApp for a better price" removes the order record that protects you. Keep the deal on Midmart.

A courier asking you to pay before showing the parcel. Inspect first, pay after — that is standard practice nationwide and every shop here accepts it.

If something goes wrong

Report it

Every shop, product and review has a report link. Reports go to our moderation team, never to the seller.

We review it

Repeated complaints suspend a shop pending review. Serious fraud gets a shop delisted and documented.

Escalate if needed

For fraud involving money, report to the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection. We will provide your order records.

The one-line rule

Check the shop before you pay, pay in advance only if you accept the risk, send money only to the number on your order page, and keep every order on the platform. Midmart is not responsible for payment issues, so your own care is the protection.

Common questions

What does the verified badge actually mean?

The shop owner's national ID has been checked and kept on file, and their business documents have been reviewed by our team. It is an event that happened on a date, not a badge that was bought.

Should I ever pay in advance?

A shop is allowed to ask for advance payment, and some do, especially for custom, imported or high-value orders. Whether to pay is your decision. If you do, check the shop's verified badge and track record first, send money only to the number shown on your Midmart order page, and keep the transaction ID and a screenshot. Midmart never receives or holds that money and is not responsible for any payment-related issue between you and a shop.

A price looks too good to be true. Is it?

Usually, yes. A phone worth ৳150,000 offered at ৳40,000 is bait, not a deal. Compare the same product across sellers — a marketplace lets you do that in a way a single Facebook page never can.

A seller wants to continue on WhatsApp. Should I?

Keep the conversation and the order on Midmart. Moving off the platform removes the order record that protects you, and it is the first move in most disputes we see.

How do I report a shop or a listing?

Every shop, product and review carries a report link. Reports go to Midmart moderators, never to the seller. Repeated complaints suspend a shop pending review; serious fraud gets it delisted.

What if I have already lost money to a seller?

Report it to us so the shop is reviewed and removed, and take it to the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection. We will provide the order records we hold. Midmart cannot recover money it never received, and will not pretend otherwise.
