Open a Free Shop on Midmart: From Signup to First Listing
No commission, no listing fee, no subscription. Here is the whole onboarding path, what you will be asked for, and how long each step really takes.
Opening a shop on Midmart is free, listing on it is free, and selling through it costs you nothing — no commission on any order, in any category. That is not an introductory offer with a date on it; it is how the marketplace is built. Midmart never collects your customers' payments, so there is nothing for it to deduct a percentage from.
Here is what onboarding actually involves.
Step 1: Sign up with your phone number
Enter your mobile number on the seller signup page and confirm it with the 6-digit code we send. Then give your name, a password and your shop name — that is the whole form. Staff review a new shop before it appears to buyers, usually within a day, and you can start adding products while you wait.
Have ready: a phone number that reaches you, your shop name, and — for your profile later — your logo and the district you operate from. No documents are needed to open a shop; an NID, passport or trade licence comes in only if you choose to get your shop verified.
Step 2: Write the two policies that matter
Before onboarding counts as complete, your shop needs a written delivery policy and return policy. Treat these as the most important text you will write on this platform. Because Midmart neither books the courier nor holds the payment, those two fields are the entire agreement between you and your buyer. Vague policies produce disputes; specific ones prevent them.
Say who ships, how many days it usually takes to each zone, what happens to a damaged parcel, whether the buyer may open the box at delivery, and what you will and will not take back.
Step 3: Set your delivery charges by zone
You set your own rate for Inside Dhaka, Outside Dhaka City, and Suburban & Rural, with an optional free-delivery threshold and an ETA range. Price these from what your courier actually charges you, not from what other shops display. A rate you cannot honour costs you more in refused parcels and bad reviews than it wins you in orders.
Step 4: Set your payment options
Configure how you want to be paid: cash on delivery, your bKash or Nagad number, a bank account, or several of them. Buyers see exactly your options at checkout, and they pay you directly. A shop that configures nothing still falls back to cash on delivery so it stays orderable.
Step 5: List your first products
Every new listing goes into a moderation queue and stays hidden until it is reviewed — you cannot publish an unreviewed listing yourself, and neither can anyone else. Listings that are complete and specific clear the queue fastest: real photographs, a model number where one exists, accurate category, honest condition and stock, and a description that answers the obvious questions.
Step 6: Work your orders
Orders arrive in your seller panel with the buyer's name, phone and address. Confirm, pack, ship with your courier, and record what you collected. Answer the order message thread — buyers notice, and the thread is also your own record if a dispute ever needs settling.
What you keep
All of it. The order total is yours, you collect it your way, and you ship it your way. What Midmart provides is the catalogue, the traffic, the verification badge, the permanent order record and a moderation queue that removes the sellers who make the marketplace worse for the rest of you.
