Prohibited Items

Last updated: 12 October 2026

Every listing on Midmart is reviewed. Sellers may not list the items below, and the law of Bangladesh applies whether or not an item is named here. This list is not exhaustive; Midmart decides what is acceptable.

Not allowed

  • Illegal goods: narcotics and controlled substances, stolen goods, and anything that is illegal to sell or possess in Bangladesh.
  • Weapons: firearms, ammunition, explosives, and weapons or parts designed to harm people.
  • Counterfeit and replica goods presented as genuine, and items that infringe someone's trademark, copyright or design.
  • Unsafe or unlicensed regulated goods: prescription-only medicines, medical devices and food or cosmetics that are expired, unregistered or unsafe.
  • Tobacco, alcohol and vaping products, and any product that cannot lawfully be sold online in Bangladesh.
  • Adult sexual content and services.
  • Hateful, abusive or defamatory material, and material that promotes violence or discrimination.
  • Protected wildlife and products made from it, and cultural or religious items sold in a way that is offensive or unlawful.
  • Personal data, hacked accounts, and tools designed for fraud or unauthorised access.
  • Services and things you cannot deliver: Midmart is for physical products shipped within Bangladesh. Lotteries, gambling, pyramid or investment schemes, and payments or currency exchange are not allowed.
  • Misleading listings: false photos, fake discounts, misleading brand or condition claims, or items you do not have in stock.

Used goods

Used items may be listed if the listing says clearly that they are used and describes their real condition.

Off-platform dealing

Do not list items to take buyers off Midmart, collect advance payments for goods you will not deliver, or ask buyers for codes sent to their phones.

What happens if a listing breaks the rules

Midmart may hold, edit or remove a listing, warn or restrict a shop, or suspend it, and may report unlawful activity to the authorities. Repeat or serious breaches can end a shop's right to sell. See the Seller Agreement.

Reporting

If you see a listing that breaks these rules, use the report link on the product or shop, or email [email protected].
